Witness to the birth of a nation

On July 9th South Sudan became the world's newest country. Follow my story as I witness the unfolding events surrounding the country's Independence. I hope to provide a mix of personal experience and observations as well as background and commentary. If you are in Juba, interested in South Sudan or just want to get in touch please feel free to e-mail me: chris@chrishaleonline.com

About Me

My photo
Chris Hale
I was born in Cambridge, England and moved to Oxford at age seven. I studied History and Economics and the University of York with an exchange to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I regularly visit my friends in Illinois and have a great love of the United States. I hope to do a Masters degree in Demography or Population Studies in the US or UK. In the long term I would like to live in the US.
